There was apparently only one anonymous American maker of conical-font brass whale-oil lamps--the same unknown manufacturer of those always-unsigned cast brass lamps with inverted-beehive shafts, who I believe worked in Southern New England (Taunton, Mass.?) in the 1820-1845 era.  This saucer-based example is the only one  of its kind I have been able to acquire in over 30 years of looking.  Slight bend to saucer and one burner tube is loose, otherwise excellent condition.  Height: 5 1/2"
